Cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase is working on a website for its forecasting platform. This information was published by technology researcher and blogger Jane Manchun Wong, known for uncovering in-development features on major tech sites.
She provided screenshots that she captioned with the words that Coinbase was “working on a prediction market.”
One screenshot indicated that the product would be offered by Coinbase Financial Markets, the exchange’s derivatives arm, «through Kalshi«, which implies that the service will be based on a regulatory framework KalshiOther images show the prediction market interface, which appears to allow users to trade using USDC or US dollars. Categories include economics, sports, science, politics, and technology.
The company had previously expressed interest in prediction markets as part of its plan to become a «universal exchange.» On November 13, Coinbase and Kalshi announced a partnership that will allow the platform to act as a custodian for contracts Kalshi based on USDC.
Recently Crypto.com launched a prediction market product in partnership with Trump Media, and the exchange Gemini announced plans to create a similar platform as part of its upcoming app.
