CNN has chosen a platform Kalshi as an official partner for prediction markets, which will allow signals received from the exchange to be used in news broadcasts. This partnership will also allow the channel to use market odds in its coverage of important political and cultural events.
Kalshi operates a federally regulated exchange that treats event contracts as a financial asset class, allowing users to trade binary options tied to real-world outcomes, such as elections or economic indicators.
Users can trade real-world events to predict election results, weather, cultural events, and more, they noted. Kalshi— The stock exchange has become a reliable source of information about the future and is used by journalists, politicians, experts, Wall Street and Main Street.
CNN plans to launch a news feed based on Kalshi, which will be available alongside traditional charting packages. This will allow users to learn how traders assess changing expectations regarding elections, political decisions, and other news events.
This week Kalshi raised $1 billion in capital, increasing its market valuation to $11 billion. That’s double the $5 billion it reached less than two months ago.
