Despite negative returns (-9,6%) since the beginning of 2025, spot bitcoin ETF BlackRock has become one of the most attractive exchange-traded funds in the United States in terms of capital inflows.
In 2025, IBIT‘s net inflow was approximately $25,4 billion, making it one of the leading capital raising institutions. Bitcoin- the fund ranks sixth among American ETF by annual net inflow of funds, which indicates a noticeable discrepancy between price dynamics and investor behavior.
IBIT stands out from its competitors. It is the only ETF of the 25 largest U.S. exchange-traded funds by inflows this year, which posted a negative annual return. Most other funds in this ranking posted positive performance, making inflows in Bitcoin- the fund from BlackRock is particularly unusual.
Notably, IBIT’s inflows exceeded those of the SPDR Gold Trust (GLD), despite gold posting significant gains in 2025. This suggests that institutional investors are willing to invest in Bitcoin-related instruments even during periods of weakness for the crypto market.
