The Ethereum blockchain will release the Fusaka update in December.

The long-awaited Fusaka update for the cryptocurrency Ethereum scheduled for release on December 3, 2025.

ETH developer Alex Stokes said members of the crypto community were enthusiastic about the upcoming upgrade, as it will allow for significant scaling. Block digital asset by optimizing the collection and verification of data from second-layer networks. This goal will be achieved by increasing the size of temporary information packets called blobs.

Data processing will be improved through the use of PeerDAS, a selective data availability solution that allows validators to verify only portions of data rather than entire blobs. This is expected to improve the performance of second-layer networks, allowing them to process a greater number of transactions.

Regular users of the Ethereum blockchain will feel the Fusaka effect, as the fees for processing transfers on second-layer networks will decrease and eventually reach zero. At this point, transactions will be free. However, second-layer networks already compare favorably to the mainnet in terms of cryptocurrency transfer fees. For example, on Loopring, the fee for sending coins is $0,04, and for exchanging them is $0,59. On the ETH blockchain, meanwhile, the average fee for these services is $1,1 and $5,48, respectively.
