The names of the five largest investors in Ethereum have been revealed.

Research Company employees have revealed the names of the five leading эфириум-investors owning $3 billion worth of cryptocurrency at the current exchange rate.

The top five largest whales include:

  1. The founder of the Estonian bank LHV, Rein Lõhmus, whose wallet contains 250,000 ETH worth $850,25 million;
  2. Canadian businessman Joseph Lubin, who accumulated 243,300 ETH worth $827,46 million;
  3. Creator of Ethereum Vitalik Buterin, who owns 241,003 ETH worth $819,65 million;
  4. Ethereum blockchain co-founder Jeffrey Wilcke, who accumulated 116,005 ETH worth $394,53 million;
  5. Renowned crypto investor and philanthropist James Fickell, who held 57,057 ETH worth $194,05 million.

Lõhmus bought 250,000 ETH during the cryptocurrency’s presale in 2014 for $75,000. Thus, over 11 years, he managed to multiply his capital by 11,336 times. However, Rein will not be able to lock in his enormous profit because he lost the private key to his crypto wallet.

Among all crypto storages, the first place in terms of the amount of Ethereum on the balance is occupied by smart contract for digital asset staking, with 72,41 million ETH worth $246,27 billion locked in it. The number of Ethereum coins in circulation is 120,7 million, meaning that staking coins account for nearly 60% of the circulating supply.
