A participant told about this Ethereum Foundation Director Tim Beiko stated that the decision was made during the All Core Devs Execution (ACDE) #221 meeting.
He also announced that Fusaka’s testnet would begin activation in October, with the mainnet launch expected shortly thereafter. Notably, the developers had previously tentatively scheduled the update for December.

The upcoming increase in the gas limit is not the first adjustment Ethereum This year, this figure has already grown to approximately 36 million units in February, and then to 45 million in July.
